SharpCell Oy will assemble a Herbert airflow nonwovens line at its plant in Valkaikoski, Finland. When the line is in operation, SharpCell will double its production capacity for air-woven nonwovens, thus strengthening the company's market position.
The company acquired the line, which has only been in operation for two years in Nuremberg, from Ascutec Sales UG(haftungsbeschränkt)& Co.KG. The line was manufactured in 2020 by Anpap Oy. The line will be assembled at the UPM Tervasaari plant in Varkaikoski, Finland.
During the transition period, SharpCell and Ascutec will work closely together to ensure that customer demand for high-quality airflow web-forming materials is met. It is planned that the line will be commissioned in Q4 2025.
